Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) has more than 75 ingredients like Amino acids, polysaccharides, legnins, enzymes apart from vitamins and minerals. Aloe vera has soothing and penetrating power; it is also an antiseptic and is very helpful in acne care. Wash your face with cold water with a non alkaline soap (preferably one that contains carbolic acid), then dab it dry and apply Aloe Vera gel and leave it on. Repeat this twice daily.

Grind equal measures of turmeric, sandal wood, neem (Azadirachta Indica), athi madhura (liquorice root). Add a few drops of lemon and yogurt, make a good paste. Apply overnight on clean skin. And in the morning wash it with water. The same paste can be also used with honey in place of lemon drops, if it irritates you.

Soak balsam in milk and saffron (crocus sativa) for a day. Grind it to paste, use it as a facial cream, and leave it on over night. Repeat these 3-4 weeks for good results even with fairly stubborn acne.

Powder the sun dried mint leaves and powder. Make a lotion of this powder by mixing with lime and a fruit juice. The mint has a soothing effect on inflammatory acne and penetrates deep, while the fruit juice nourishes and rejuvenates skin. You can try changing the fruit at regular intervals.

Acne being a cosmetic disease and temporary in nature (up to 17 years of age in females and 19 years for males), mostly affects adolescents. Lot of exercises, avoiding pollution, good food habits with generous consumption of leafy veggies, sprouts, and leguminous helps you a lot. Drink a lot of water (1.5-2 liters a day). Herbal juices made from pumpkin and bitter gourd; strike a good balance in your food.
