Treating mild acne in pre teens seems to be an easier task, than curing acne in teens. A pre teenager has a far less probability getting acne, than their counterpart in adolescent age group. Pre teen acne is milder in nature, due to many reasons, most of which are physiological in nature. Pre teens skin surface is full of sebaceous lands, as in the case of adults; however, most of which have a small size compared to teens. Most of acne happens on those sebaceous glands, which are bigger in size. Probably this might correlate with reduced occurrence of acne in pre teens.

Pre teen acne may also occur due to maternal hormone transfer in the pre birth stages. Acne occurring due to this reason is very mild in nature and just disappears in a few days. Certain cases of mild acne might also occur in pre teens, when the hormonal activities pick up very early. Such acne will require a treatment, at least for a shorter duration. However, acne in pre teens is probably due to intense bacterial infection and inflammation of sebaceous glands. Atopic (allergic) forms of acne are also quite common in some pre teens.

Treating mild acne in pre teen is as challenging as finding a cure for teen acne. In cases of simple eruptions, topical application of commonly available, over the counter creams, with an active ingredient of 0.025% benzoyl peroxide, will serve the purpose. You can consider applying this cream evenly, on the lesions, twice a day, to achieve the desired result. Pre teen acne can also be treated by cleaning the acne wound with mild cleansers and moisturizers. You will need to consult your dermatologist, before you decide to apply any cleansers or moisturizers on your teens skin. If your teen has a dry skin, you may apply a suitable moisturizer.

Treating acne in preteens, also involves consumption of vegetables rich in Vitamins A or E, as the antioxidants available in common vegetables, reduce the oxygen free radicals. Alternatively, applying Retin A rich cream, will also reduce the intensity of acne, the dosage of which is prescribed your dermatologist. If the acne in your case is found due to infection of sebaceous glands, the normal suggested remedy is antibiotics. The oral or systemic antibiotic forms are more beneficial, than the topical form, if the skin is very sensitive.

Treating mild acne in pre-teens, also involve avoiding harsh soaps and allergens, which cause acne in a milder form. Pre teen acne, though milder nature, can be a precursor to an outbreak of severe acne, during teenage years. This must give you enough warning to avoid acne in pre teen age at all costs.
