If you are girl in your teens, you will be more worried about the ill effects of acne, which can wreak havoc on your body. Serious acne can leave bad physical scars as well as emotional distress among teen girls. Teen girls are more emotional and concerned about their acnes. Acne eruptions are known to leave our kids embarrassed, helpless and emotionally drained. Every girl likes to look the best of their lives and they will do any thing to look smart and feel better. But, teen girl's acne is a bane on our society.

But girls, don't lose heart. Have courage! At this moment, you have as high as 85 percent of your age group with you. Always discuss with your parents, the first visible eruption of acne on your face. Your parents can guide and counsel you as they are more experienced. Acne eruptions in teen girls like you are common, but no one knows exactly what causes acne on your face.

Acne in teen girls, develop when the secretion of a substance known as sebum (skin oil) increases due to hormonal changes. The sebum combined with dead skin cells tends to choke the openings of the sebaceous glands (skin oil producing glands). If this remains below the surface of the skin, it is known as white head. If this sebum concoction is exposed above the skin, it turns black due to exposure to air and melanin concentration. In such cases it is called a black head.

Curiously, boys are known to be more prone to get acne, than teen girls, which is due a hormone called androgen, which is produced at a higher level than in a teen girl's body. The outbreak of acne starts in teen girls at the age of 11, while in boys it starts occurring at the age of 13.

Acne bouts in girls increase during menstruation, in fact just before their periods. It is very natural for them to see ugly acne eruptions at this stage. Teen girl acne is not only scaring, but also emotionally depressing. Healthy habits and right diet can help them reduce the probability of getting acne in their puberty. You may also consider washing your face with warm water with a mild soap, as this action is known to open up the pores on your skin layers. Repeated washing with warm water is also known to reduce acne related scars, in case acne happens to you.

Teen age acne must be noticed at an early stage, so that the acutely painful lesions can be treated properly, with a right medication. Never prick or squeeze the top of the acne, as it is known to cause bad scars. Ultimately, you will need to consider the inevitability of acne, as no one has been able to escape its tentacle. Proper diagnosis and a timely treatment will help you overcome the trauma caused by a demon called acne.
